KIMBERLY TATENDA GAITANJATI
Kimberly Tatenda Gakanje works with fabric paint, spray paints and dyes to produce non-representational paintings. She experiments with colours and textures on textiles, stemming from a deep fascination with their expressive potential. Her work celebrates culture and identity while incorporating universal childhood experiences and perspectives.
Kimberly was born in Harare in the year 2000. From a young age, she was captivated by the world of art and found solace in colours, shapes, and the freedom of expression that art provided. Each stroke of paint and every line drawn felt like a conversation with her inner self, allowing her to explore her thoughts and emotions.
Kimberly graduated with a National Diploma in Fine Art from the National Gallery School of Visual Art and Design and she has been working from Mbare Art Space for the past two years.
